LET’S GO FORWARD

RTC Keeps Southern Nevada Moving

Southern Nevada is growing, but transit funding hasn’t changed in more than 20 years. New businesses, new communities, more residents and more visitors—yet we operate a transit system on budget that hasn’t changed since 2002. See what’s at risk and take the survey to help shape what comes next.

RTC Is More Than a Ride

RTC does more than run buses. It helps keep Southern Nevada moving, managing traffic flow, improving safety on our roads, and connecting people to jobs, school, and everyday life.

Behind every open business, every staffed hospital floor, and every restaurant that opened on time today – there’s a good chance someone took the bus to get there. RTC provides more than 1.1 million trips every week.

As our region grows, the system that supports all of this is under increasing pressure.

The Challenge

Growing region

Southern Nevada’s population is projected to grow to more than 3 million by 2050.

$118.5M annual need

Estimated annual funding needed to maintain current transit service and meet demand.

Limited funding sources

Local funding hasn’t kept pace with inflation, growth, or rising operating costs.

Up to 42% service cuts

Without new funding, transit service could be reduced by up to 42% as early as 2028.
