As Senior Vice President of Marketing, Entertainment and Guest Experiences at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, Dawn Rawle sees firsthand how RTC Transit helps keep one of Las Vegas’ largest resorts and the city’s tourism industry running.

“It’s a service that serves people for different needs,” Rawle said. “Some don’t like to drive. Some don’t want to have a car. Some like ridesharing.”

For many Westgate employees, transit isn’t simply convenient—it’s essential. Rawle shares the story of one employee, Maria, who can’t drive at night because of a vision condition. “If Maria weren’t able to get to Westgate, that could impact her employment. It could impact her life overall,” Rawle said.

Reliable transportation also directly impacts the guest experience. Westgate welcomes thousands of convention attendees each year to its convention facilities and the neighboring Las Vegas Convention Center. Behind every memorable stay is a team of employees who must be able to get to work.

“If we’re unable to get our team members here to service our guests, I have severe concerns on what would occur at that point,” Rawle said. “How we would continue to service guest rooms, serve our guests in our dining establishments, have our front desk agents checking people in, and just keep this wheel turning.”

Transit also provides convention visitors with convenient access to Westgate and the Convention Center. RTC Route 108 along Paradise Road makes it easy for visitors to get where they need to go without navigating traffic or unfamiliar streets.

For Rawle, RTC Transit is a vital part of what keeps Southern Nevada’s economy thriving.

“If you think regional transportation and transportation overall doesn’t impact your team members, your business and Las Vegas overall, you’re sorely mistaken,” she said. “It really is an integral part of the city and what makes this city move.”
