Southern Nevada has changed dramatically over the past 20 years. We’ve added hundreds of thousands of residents, new jobs, and more places to go—but transit funding hasn’t kept pace.
Today, RTC provides nearly 58 million rides each year, helping people get to work, school, medical appointments, and other essential destinations. Yet maintaining today’s transit system requires an additional $118 million annually, and without a long-term funding solution, service could be reduced by as much as 42% by 2028.
The impacts of a potential reduction in transit service would have a significant impact on our economy and quality of life – whether you ride the bus or not.
That’s why we’re launching Friends of Transit—a new monthly newsletter dedicated to keeping you informed about transit, mobility, and the funding challenges facing our community.
Here, you’ll find easy-to-understand updates, facts, and opportunities to join the conversation about Southern Nevada’s transportation future.
